OBTAINING A GOSHEN PUBLIC LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP CARD
ADULTS: All residents of more than 30 days and/or taxpayers of the Goshen Central School District plus residents of the Town of Goshen who reside in the Chester School District who are age 18 or older are eligible for an adult Goshen Library Card.
Two proofs of residency/identity are required. We ask for one photo ID plus one form of documentation which has the name and current address. Examples of photo ID are: passports, employee ID tags and drivers licenses.
Examples of proof of address include: bills, mail, auto insurance, auto registration, fishing licenses, etc.
CHILDREN: Children between the ages of 5 (and entering kindergarten) and 17 who meet the above requirements are eligible for Goshen Library Cards. The child and a parent/legal guardian must come in to the library to fill out and sign the registration card. Parent’s proof of identity and residency are accepted for child’s application. Parent/legal guardians are responsible for seeing that their children obey library rules and loan policies.
TEMPORARY RESIDENTS: Residents of the Goshen Central School District who are here temporarily (examples: exchange students, au pairs, summer residents, residents of a juvenile home) are eligible for a library card without Direct Access privileges, free of charge. The same proofs of identity and address as for permanent residents are required. Juvenile application forms for the residents of the group home must be signed by the residents and counselor in charge.
