Community Engagement
The Goshen Public Library & Historical Society is proud to be an active and contributing member of the Goshen Central School District community. The Library facilities community connections, citizen involvement, support for local non-profits, and thoughtful philanthropy.
School Outreach
The Library supports the school curriculum with reading lists and known homework and research assignments, assembles materials for teachers upon request, and provides space for tutoring and group study. The Library also engages with schools remotely as demonstrated below.
Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School
Youth Services librarians visit first-grade classrooms in the fall to encourage getting a library card visit the grades K-2 classrooms to promote participation in the summer reading program.
Goshen Intermediate School

The Library is a stop on the self-guided Goshen Christmas House Tour, an annual fundraiser.
Child Care Council of Orange County, Inc.
The Library supports the Council’s annual children’s used book drive.
Friends of Goshen Public Library & Historical Society
Junior Friends of Goshen Public Library & Historical Society
Partner with Library to provide outstanding lecture historical lecture series and teen programs. Also provide funding for the Library’s Museum pass program that provides admission and reduced admission to ten different museums and attractions.
Goshen Chamber of Commerce
The Library is a member of the Chamber and participates in Great America Weekend.
Goshen Community Coalition
The Library Director and a Board member volunteer with this organization dedicated to solving social, health, xxxx problems in Goshen.

Community Home
The Library is a shared community resource for hosting and promoting programs by and meetings of local businesses and community organizations. Since all programs at the Library are free, they are accessible to all regardless of financial circumstances, making our programming space an important community asset.
