Board of Trustees

Interested in becoming a Goshen Public Library Trustee?

Do you love libraries?  Interested in the role the Goshen Public Library & Historical Society plays in our community?

If your answers are yes, consider running for GPL&HS trustee! The GPL&HS trustee election is scheduled for Wednesday, April 19. Two trustee seats will be on the ballot. Trustees are volunteers elected by the residents of the Goshen Central School District and serve a three-year term. Qualified candidates for trustee must be 18 years of age and residents of the Goshen Central School District. Trustees ensure the GPL&HS upholds its mission and meets the community’s needs now and for the future. The Board of Trustees meets once a month on the second Monday at 7:00 pm in the Pomares Community Room at the Library.

Petitions for candidates interested in placing their names on the ballot will be available at the GPL&HS beginning on Monday, February 27 at 9:00 am and must be returned by 12:30 pm on Tuesday, March 14. For more information on the position of trustee, please contact Catherine Lemmer, Director, or consult the Handbook for Library Trustees of New York State.
